Sampler UFO-No Longer!

These sampler blocks have been waiting for a while to become a quilt, and at last their day has come!  This quilt will now be given to a grieving family through Covered in Love.

The sampler blocks are from 2 different people and I rounded them out with some coordinating fabric cuts and one stray faded quarter cabin.

The quilt finished 51"x64" and quilted up soft and cuddly!  Speaking of soft and cuddly...

Don't you just want to snuggle and smoosh your face on her? If only it weren't for those claws...

Covered in Love makes quilts of comfort.  The latest CiL block drive will run through April. If you want to help make blocks for grieving families we'd love to have you. More info here

Also, don't forget the Hands2Help drive is gearing up over at Sarah's blog. CiL was so blessed by this last year; please consider making a quilt for one of this year's charities. There are always fabulous prizes involved!

  1. What a great quilt to give for charity. Your cat is beautiful!

  2. I like your fabrics. They will be very comforting and of course, the quilt will be snuggly. There is just something about warm colors.

  3. The sampler blocks play so nicely together! I agree with Pamela that the warm colors are comforting. Very nice finish :)

Do you find that the approximately 50"x60" size is good for CiL? That's a great size for me to quilt, but I can go bigger, too.

  4. I agree with Louise, the blocks go well together and the blocks of just fabric are a calming touch. Kat, another great finish of yours!

  5. Congratulations on this beautiful finish. Hard to tell the blocks were made by two people. You balanced them very well in the setting. Great work. ;^)

  6. That turned out well. Congrats on your newly completed quilt!!
